What is anxiety and performance coaching?
Anxiety and performance coaching is a focused process that helps you manage nerves, build confidence, and perform at your best in high-pressure situations. Together, we identify what triggers your anxiety, apply practical tools to manage it, and develop strategies to help you stay calm and focused when it matters most.
-
Is this therapy?
No. Anxiety Performance Coaching is not therapy or counselling. It’s a forward-focused process designed to give you practical tools and strategies to manage anxiety and perform under pressure.
-
How is coaching different from therapy or counselling?
Coaching is future-focused and practical. It’s about building strategies to move forward, rather than exploring past experiences in depth. While therapy is often designed to treat mental health conditions, coaching provides tools, accountability, and structure to help you achieve specific goals — such as speaking confidently, sitting exams without panic, or staying composed at work. If at any point I believe therapy or specialist support would be more appropriate, I will always advise you.

How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals and the challenges you’re facing. Most people see noticeable improvements in just a few sessions and most anxieties can certainly be improved within a handful of sessions. Some clients benefit from just 3–6 sessions to prepare for a specific challenge. Many choose to work with me for a longer programme or ongoing support to build deeper resilience, particularly in sporting performance coaching. We’ll discuss the best plan for you during your free consultation.
-
Who do you work with?
I support anyone with a mind! Many professionals, students, and athletes who experience anxiety in high-pressure situations such as exams, presentations, interviews, or competitions already know about the benefits of mind coaching but I also enjoy helping women back to work after time off with children - confidence can be really low at this time and some mental coaching can work wonders here.
If you’re motivated to change and ready to learn new strategies, coaching can help.
-
What results can I expect?
Results vary depending on your goals and commitment. Most clients report:
Feeling calmer and more in control. Less anxiety, more preparedness and better sleep.
Greater confidence when facing pressure. The knowledge that they can perform under pressure.
Improved performance in the situations that matter most.
-
How do I get started?
The first step is simple — book a free consultation. We’ll talk about your challenges, goals, and whether coaching is the right fit for you.
-
What kinds of challenges can you help with?
Some of the most common challenges I support include:
Exam or study nerves
Public speaking and presentations
Interview performance
Workplace pressure and leadership demands
Sports and performance anxiety
If you have a specific situation in mind, we can discuss it during a free consultation.

What happens in a coaching session?
We’ll start by exploring the situations where anxiety shows up, and I will seek to understand your triggers and symptoms and what you want to achieve. From there each session has an element of psycho-education, learning about anxiety and how it affects you physically and what you can do to change this. You will learn and practice techniques to help you and if you feel comfortable I would recommend hypnotherapy alongside the CBT techniques and mindset coaching we will be using. If you prefer, we can use visualisation.
You’ll leave each session with practical strategies to apply immediately, along with homework to practice between sessions. I will follow up each session with an email recapping what we discussed and reminding you about all the techniques used and homework given. I will be available to you between sessions to provide accountability and encouragement to help you keep progressing.
-
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
If anxiety is stopping you from performing at your best — in exams, work, or sporting performance — coaching can help. A free consultation gives you the chance to ask questions, explore your needs, and see if I’m the right fit. There’s no obligation or cost, just a conversation.
-
How much does coaching cost?
I offer different coaching packages depending on your needs and goals. During your free consultation, we’ll discuss the options and find the right fit for you. Transparency is important to me, and there are no hidden costs.
-
Will everything we discuss be confidential?
Yes, absolutely. Everything shared in our sessions is kept strictly confidential. Your privacy and trust are essential, and I uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.
-
Do you work with teenagers?
Yes, I work with students preparing for exams, struggling with performance nerves and those wanting to include mental performance training as part of their sporting endeavours. For clients under 18, I require parental consent and I would not normally see students under 13 years of age. Parents are welcome to sit in on the coaching session but we usually get better results from teenagers being allowed a degree of independence and privacy to discuss their anxieties and symptoms and to help build self-confidence.
